Since 1993 TESTEX has been a member of the OEKO-TEX® Association, which is engaged in testing textiles for harmful substances according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. STeP by OEKO-TEX^®

Sustainable Textile Production (STeP) by OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification system for brands, trading companies and manufacturers along the textile chain to communicate their sustainable production conditions transparently and credibly. The modular structure of STeP certification permits comprehensive analysis and evaluation of all relevant areas of the company with regard to the employment of environmentally friendly technologies and products, efficient management of resources and compliance with optimal working conditions in respect of health, safety and social compatibility.

LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX^®

The LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for leather and leather articles of all levels of production. Examples of articles that can be certified include :

Semi-finished leather products (e.g. wet-blue, wet-white, crust etc.)
Finished leather
Leather fiber material
Ready-made articles (garments of all types, accessories, leather gloves, leather handbags, leather covers and much more)

For the leather materials the conditions and criteria of the latest valid LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® are applied, for non-leather components contained (e.g. textile materials, metallic accessories etc.) the requirements of the latest valid STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® have to be met.

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX^®

The basic concept of the new ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® was invented by TESTEX in the early 90s (Eco-Passport) and is now part of the OEKO-TEX® portfolio. With this certification textile chemical suppliers can prove that their products can be used in a sustainable textile production.

Stage 1 :
Restricted Substance List (RSL) and Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL) screening.
Stage 2 :
Analytical verification, performed at TESTEX (official OEKO-TEX® member institute).
Stage 3 : (optional)
RVerification of product stewardship measures regarding the working conditions and environmental management (assessment and On-site visit).

Which products can be certified?
All chemicals, colourants and auxiliaries used for the manufacture of textiles and leather materials can be certified in accordance with ECO PASSPORT. This also includes industry-specific formulations (chemical compounds) for the textile, leather and clothing industry.
